Jury

Each year, the Society selects three judges with slightly varied areas of expertise. The judging takes place in Spring.

THIS YEAR’S JURORS:

  • Bryan Gee

    Bryan Gee's book design work has been recognized by the Advertising and Design Club of Canada, the Ontario Association of Art Galleries and the Alcuin Society. His art direction for magazines and newspapers has received numerous National and International awards. He has held senior design positions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Saturday Night Magazine and Bruce Mau Design. His design writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, where he is currently art director for Opinion, and most recently in Amphora.  

  • Donna Braggins

    Retired Associate Dean, Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design at Sheridan College. At Sheridan Donna oversaw Graphic Design, Photography, Illustration, Art Fundamentals and several other key courses at Sheridan College. She has an MA in Canadian Design History. She's art directed magazines including Macleans.

  • Shelley Gruendler

    Dr. Shelley Gruendler, founder of TypeCamp.org, is a typographer, designer, and educator who teaches, lectures, and publishes internationally on typography and design. She holds a PhD and MA in Typography from the University of Reading, England and is a former Alcuin Society Board Member.
