Another Successful Alcuin Awards in Toronto

The Toronto edition of the Alcuin Awards was another smashing success this year. Held on October 6th, it attracted book arts professionals  and aficionados from near and far to the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto.

Attendees were treated to an excellent dinner, convivial times inspecting the winning books, a superb keynote by designer Michael Solomon, and the finale: the awards presentation. Winners travelled from as nearby as down the street (I walked down from my perch at Robarts Library at the University of Toronto) and as far away as Winnipeg (the winners for Warehouse Journal, Vol. 24) and Montreal (the winners for L’envers du décor). Many thanks to: Michael Solomon for his fantastic keynote; Leah Gordon for her organizational assistance; Chester Gryski for arranging the local affairs to the letter; Don McLeod for his photographs; the staff at the Arts and Letters Club for great help; and to the winners of the 2015 Awards for their beautiful books!
